The same rule should apply to toothpaste that applies to anything we put on and in our body: If you can’t pronounce the ingredients…. avoid them!
"Most toothpastes have a glycerine base that coats the tooth enamel, keeping it from absorbing the minerals that it needs to be healthy. The reason that enamel is so hard is that it is made up of 96% minerals. Healthy enamel is actively involved in a variety of chemical reactions, including a de-mineralization and re-mineralization exchange processes with the saliva. Toothpaste’s made with glycerine, stops this process and leaves the enamel looking brown and dingy. The toothpaste industries answer to the de-mineralization problem was to start using chemicals like fluoride that actually stripped the surface of the enamel. This leaves the enamel looking white and smooth, but it is actually thinner and sicklier than ever. It may take as may as 30 brushes to remove this glycerine layer from your teeth!!!!
Bentonite Clay Toothpaste is based on the concept that we can’t just scrape our teeth clean with harsh chemicals like Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, Triclosan, Diethanolomine, Isopropyl Alcohol etc.… many of which are carcinogenic and present in most toothpaste.
Bentonite Clay Toothpaste neutralizes acid, removes bacteria, leaches out infection & remineralises teeth by adding back needed minerals that promote healthy teeth and gums.
When switching from commercial to natural toothpaste I advise that you alternate between the two for the first month as you may find you have a sensitive mouth whilst your teeth and gums strengthen up.
